Most of you guys have probably heard that we released our brand new single "This Ain't Goodbye" earlier this week! If you haven't seen the lyric video, we would definitely appreciate you watching and sharing with your friends! You can watch it here:
Anyway, we wanted to take some time and give you the background story of the song, why we wrote it and who inspired it. So here it goes...
The writing process for "This Ain't Goodbye" started when one of our fans passed away unexpectedly in a car crash. We didn't know her very well but it was still a shock to realize we wouldn't see her again. Over the next few months 3 more young people we had connections with went home to be with the Lord in various tragic accidents. It's easy in times like this to question God. We can often wonder if He's even there, if He cares, and why He allows such terrible things to happen to good people. I think sometimes, despite our efforts, we won't be able to understand. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," said the Lord. We have to learn to trust that the Lord is in control. We have to hold on to the promises written in the Bible. Promises like Jeremiah 29:11 -
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope."
And 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 -
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep."
Rest assured, the brothers and sisters in Christ that we lose in this life are not gone forever. We will see them again one day and we will worship the King together side by side for eternity!
"This Ain't Goodbye" was inspired by the tragic deaths of 4 young people, but we hope that this song can bring hope and encouragement to everyone who hears it!
